Nall hollis biography of albert einstein

He applied for admission to the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. His first attempt was a failure because he failed exams in botany, zoology and languages. However, he passed the next year and in became a Swiss citizen. At college, he met a fellow student Mileva Maric, and after a long friendship, they married in ; they had two sons before divorcing several years later.

In Einstein renounced his German citizenship to avoid military conscription. For five years he was stateless, before successfully applying for Swiss citizenship in After graduating from Zurich college, he attempted to gain a teaching post but none was forthcoming; instead, he gained a job in the Swiss Patent Office. While working at the Patent Office, Einstein continued his own scientific discoveries and began radical experiments to consider the nature of light and space.

In addition to working on his PhD, Einstein also worked feverishly on other papers. In , he published four pivotal scientific works, which would revolutionise modern physics. He took Austrian-Hungary citizenship to accept the job. In , he returned to Germany and was appointed a director of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Physics.

From this Quantum Theory, other inventors were able to develop devices such as television and movies. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in This theory was written in a simple style with no footnotes or academic references. The core of his theory of relativity is that:. Thus there is no fixed absolute standard of comparison for judging the motion of the earth or plants.

It was revolutionary because previously people had thought time and distance are absolutes. But, Einstein proved this not to be true. He also said that if electrons travelled at close to the speed of light, their weight would increase. Working from a basis of special relativity. Einstein sought to express all physical laws using equations based on mathematical equations.

He devoted the last period of his life trying to formulate a final unified field theory which included a rational explanation for electromagnetism. However, he was to be frustrated in searching for this final breakthrough theory. He based this on his new general theory of relativity. The news was published in newspapers around the world, and it made Einstein internationally known as a leading physicist.

Weinstein, G. Brian, Denis By the end of the s, Nall had earned critical acclaim in Europe in large part owing to two challenging and important works, The Last Supper and the piece "Alice in Wonderland" series. The technical skill and depth of subject matter reflected in these works brought attention to not only Nall's unique style but the emergence of an important new artist on the European cultural landscape.

As he gained access to significant centers of the art world and elite European social circles, Nall attracted more high-profile patrons, and related portraiture of celebrities became an important extension of his work. Nall's portrait work moved his notoriety in Europe to a much higher level. His growing friendship with Prince Albert earned Nall a major public art commission: the monumental ceramic wall hangings at the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco's primary performing arts center.

He gained additional commissions and exhibited major pieces of public art for the Monaco Cathedral, in Italy at the Pisa Airport, the Monastery of St. Frances of Assisi, and Pietrasanta, and in Menton, France. Nall's success allowed him to purchase and renovate the twelfth-century former studio of Jean Dubuffet, founder of the Art Brut movement, in Vence, France, just northwest of Nice.

The site became Nall's home, studio, gallery, gathering spot for other artists, and an educational center for young interns. The compound came to be known as the Nall Art Association. Jimmy Lee Sudduth Portrait In the s, Nall started making more frequent trips home to Alabama to visit family and strengthen ties with a broader range of Alabama artists.

During these visits, his appreciation for their work inspired an idea to curate and launch a major exhibition called Alabama Art With help from the Alabama State Council on the Arts , the exhibition opened at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts with much critical acclaim and large numbers of supportive visitors. The success of the exhibition led to its restaging in various locations in the south of France, with Alabama governor Don Siegelman and Prince Albert of Monaco endorsing a breakthrough cultural exchange.

Nall continued to garner fame and additional recognition in the s both at home in the United States and abroad. He opened the doors for cultural exchange between Alabama and Italy with the creation and donation of his large-scale multimedia work Peace Frame to Pietrasanta, arguably the sculpture capitol of the world. Also in Italy, he was hired to design the sets and costumes for two productions of the world-renowned Puccini Opera Festival and create the design for two new tableware lines for Haviland China.

The NALL Art Association offered artistic training for college students and provided a cultural life through exhibitions and conferences. The facilities included ten cabins and studios for artists and a studio-museum. She has taken up residence there and has invited her family to live in his museum and in the former 'artists and writers cabins'.

In , Nall organized the Alabama Art Exhibit, highlighting 13 artists with different areas of expertise. Nall produced a portrait of each of the artists, displayed with the individual's art work. Vittorio Sgarbi wrote Violata Pax about the series of Nall's work that was the subject of a multi-national exhibit in St. Art Association. Nall has gained an international reputation for works in many media.

The following is a summary from Solo-Mosacio :. In , Nall was an artist-in-residence at Troy State University. In December , this City-State issued a postage stamp illustrated from these mosaics. Nall's monumental "Peace Frame" is also permanently installed as a gateway to Pietrasanta in Tuscany, the work site for some of Michelangelo's sculpture.
